Bachelor of Science in Accountancy

Program Objectives
In three to five years after graduation, the Bachelor of Science in Accountancy alumni shall:

1. Practice as successful accountants for the advancement of society; and
2. Promote professionalism in the area of Accountancy.

Student Outcomes (SO)

The program must enable the students to attain the following by the time of graduation:

a. Perform basic functions of management such as planning, organizing, staffing, directing and
controlling;
b. Apply the basic concepts that underlie each of the functional areas of business (marketing,
finance, human resources management, production and operations management, information
technology, and strategic management) and employ these concepts in various business
situations;
c. Select the proper decision making tools to critically, analytically, and creatively solve problems
and drive results;
d. Express oneself clearly and communicate effectively with stakeholders both in oral and written
forms;
e. Apply information and communication technology (ICT) skills as required by the business
environment;
f. Work effectively with other stakeholders and manage conflict in the workplace;
g. Plan and implement business-related activities;
h. Demonstrate corporate citizenship and social responsibility;
i. Exercise high personal moral and ethical standards;
j. Resolve business issues and problems with a global proficiency in the areas of financial
accounting and reporting, cost accounting and management, management accounting and
control, taxation and accounting information systems;
k. Conduct Accounting Information System research through independent studies of relevant
literature and appropriate use of accounting theory and methodologies;
l. Employ technology as a business tool in capturing financial and non-financial information,
generating reports and making decisions;
m. Apply knowledge and skills that will enable them to successfully respond to various types of
assessments (including professional licensure and certifications); and
n. Confidentially maintain a commitment to good corporate citizenship, social responsibility, and
ethical practice in performing functions as an accountant.
